The Saint Thomas Aquinas Girls’ Tennis team has begun the 2024-2025 season. Each member of the team brings a unique set of strengths and experiences, contributing to a proficient dynamic and supportive environment. Through teamwork and perseverance, they will have an amazing chance at achieving great things this season. The team members this season are Gabriella Alonso, Alana Fernandes, Mckenzie Gase, Julia Generalova, Olivia Grnja, Anna Haagenson, Annika Hahn, Samantha Meyer, Sophia Pacheco, Anna Pitino, and Ana Sarragan.
Returning member of the team Anna Pitino shares “I had such a great time on the team last year. So, I’m excited to see what this season holds.” The team has been preparing for their match on February 27th, 2025. Pitino adds, “I have been making sure to try my best at practice and act as if I was at a real match.” New member Olivia Grnja shared her emotions from when she received her acceptance to the team: “I just finished dinner when I got the call; I was so shocked, since a lot of the girls that tried out were really good.” She also has been preparing for her first match in her high school career: “At practice, we have been playing matches against each other. Then, when I get home from practice I go with my dad and practice what I had trouble with.”
The Girls’ Tennis team is ready to make its mark with determination, skill, and team spirit. The Raiders are excited to see them grow, compete, and represent our school with pride!
