On Thursday November 13, 2025, the Fine Arts Spotlight took place in the Bienes Center Theater at St. Thomas Aquinas High School. The Spotlight included a variety of performances from students involved in the performing arts program. Members of the choir, steel drums club, International Thespian Honor Society, forensics and debate, and STA’s marching band participated. This Fine Arts Spotlight was possible with the help of Xander Snell and his students in Technical Theater. For the show, the microphones, lighting, audio, video switch, and more were done by the Technical Theater students.
The steel drums opened the event by performing the songs “Levitating,” “Get Busy,” “Jamaica Farewell,” and “Amazing Grace,” as the audience members walked in and took their seats. The steel drums club has only been a club since February 27, 2025, but they have a very talented and cohesive group, which was evident by their euphonious sounds.
After the steel drums concluded, STA’s Raider Regiment performed and filled the theater with joy and excitement. Rather than taking the stage, the band surrounded the crowd on three sides for a fully immersive musical experience. Freshman, JayJay Vital said, “I felt elated, but a bit nervous playing the trombone. I thought I might mess up, but I didn’t.” The choir shared several songs, including a moving piece titled “Tell My Father,” in honor of Veteran’s Day.

Thespians shared several performances as well, including an original pantomime titled “Dreamageddon,” written by sophomore, Julie Bohm. Vital shared, “I enjoyed watching the other performances and the pantomime. I am very impressed by the level of acting experience that I saw on the stage!”
Forensics was not without their own original flare, and performed a hilarious skit about the heist at the Louvre. Each performance was unique and entertaining in different ways, and the audience was impressed by the creativity and talent that they saw on the stage!”
