This Thanksgiving in the NFL was one to remember with many close games. Kicking off Week 13 was one of the most entertaining games to watch, with the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions. This game was very suspenseful, with both teams going down to the wire, but in the end, the Packers came out on top 31-24. The game of the week was the Kansas City Chiefs vs the Dallas Cowboys, and was also the most viewed game in NFL History! But all in all, the Cowboys came out victorious, 31-28. Heading over to Baltimore the Ravens took on the Cincinnati Bengals for the last thanksgiving matchup of the week. This game was not as entertaining because the Bengals steamrolled the Ravens 32-14. Next the Chicago Bears played the Philadelphia Eagles. The Bears had a very impressive win 24-15, and the Bears went straight to the top seed in the NFC.
The Miami Dolphins beat the New Orleans Saints 21-17 and improved to 5-7 as they try to make a very impressive playoff run. The Houston Texans played the Indianapolis Colts and won 20-16. The Texans improved to 7-5 as they try to make the playoffs and Indy fell to 8-4 as they have not been playing great football. The New York Jets beat the Atlanta Falcons in a very tight one 27-24. These teams will not make the playoffs and are just trying to win as many games as possible. The San Francisco 49ers beat the Cleveland Browns 26-8. The 49ers improved to 9-4 to try to secure a spot in the playoffs. The Carolina Panthers had the upset of the week beating the Los Angeles Rams 31-28. The Panthers improved to 7-6; the Rams fell to 9-3 and lost the top spot in the NFC. The Jacksonville Jaguars beat the Tennessee Titans 25-3. The Jaguars are now looking like true contenders.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Arizona Cardinals 20-17 and are just trying to stay relevant in the playoff race at this point in the season. Josh Allen, the quarterback, didn’t play his best game this week but that is why football is a team sport. The Buffalo Bills were able to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 26-7. The Las Vegas Raiders continue to have a season they would love to forget as the Los Angeles Chargers destroyed them 31-14. The Denver Broncos and Washington Commanders had the closest game of the week but the Broncos came out on top 27-26. The Seattle Seahawks continue to look dominant, easily beating the Vikings 26-0. Sophomore Blake Calixte, a quarterback for the STA Raiders, shared his insight on Super Bowl contenders, “I personally believe the Baltimore Ravens will win this Super Bowl because their offense is looking very good behind Lamar Jackson who is running the show. Their defense was a little shaky in the beginning of the season but is looking better and almost at that championship caliber.”
