This Premier League season has come down to two teams battling for the Premier League title. The first team is Manchester City, a club that has dominated the league throughout the decade and even won four straight Premier League titles. The other contender is Arsenal F.C., which has not won the league since its historic 2004 season. Arsenal has placed second for the last three years, and is determined to put this run to an end and finally win the title.
There are only three games remaining in the season, with the final matchday set for May 19, 2026, when every team will play. Currently, Arsenal leads the league with 76 points. However, Manchester City is tight on their tail with 71 points and a game in hand. Manchester City has played 34 games, while Arsenal has played 35. If Manchester City wins this game they will be at 74 points with three games remaining. Many speculate if Manchester City can still win the league after their draw against Everton.
Arsenal’s next game is against West Ham United F.C., who are currently in 18th place. This is a must-win game for Arsenal. Meanwhile, Manchester City’s next match is against Brentford on May 9, which is a much tougher opponent than Arsenal’s matchup. Manchester City will need to put a lot of effort into their next matches to catch up to Arsenal.
Freshman Malachi Loritson says that he believes that Arsenal are going to take home the title because they have much easier fixtures than Man City. “Along with the Premier League title, Arsenal are also going to win the UEFA Champions League final on May 31, 2026 against Paris Saint Germain!” added Loritson
