American Thanksgiving is around the corner, and at STA, students are reflecting on gratitude for this holiday season. Junior, Alexis Williams, said she is most excited to be, “getting together with family and feeling blessed to be healthy.” Gathering with family reminds her of the love and support they have for her and having good health allows her to truly enjoy life’s moments and spend quality time with loved ones.
Another junior, Tyler Acierno, replied, “I am thankful for God, my friends Romeo and Matteo, and my family because I love them; also for my English teacher, Ms. Tabon because she cares more than some teachers.” Each of these play an important role during the Thanksgiving season. Tyler thanks God for providing blessings, strength, and guidance through both good and difficult times. Tyler’s friends are a source of support, joy, and laughter. His family offers him unconditional love and care.
Derek Brown, a Sophomore, answered, “I am thankful for my dog, to be able to go to this school, and for my family.” “Playing soccer with friends, my house that I live in, and being blessed to have food everyday,” Sophomore, Ernest Mokbel replied. Freshman Kooper Brown responded, “My family because I love spending time with them, my friends, and my dog.” Freshman Yeseniya Verloka said, “My mom because she is the best, my house, and my friends.”
“My teachers who care and push me to be my best, my friends who always put a smile on my face, and for the privilege to be at STA and the many opportunities I have because of it,” senior, Kaitlyn Foley replied. Meanwhile, senior Vincent Williams said, “I am thankful for being able to go to school, wrestling, and for the people in his life.”
Universally, many students are thankful for their school community, friends, and family. Noticeably, STA students are thankful for their Raider Family. During Thanksgiving, people reflect on these relationships and recognize how God, family, and friends have helped them grow and find a sense of happiness and belonging throughout the year.
