The SAT can be a crucial part of the life of any junior in high school. As juniors stress to prepare for testing, tips and tricks can be shared for how to be better prepared for the standardized test. Here are some suggestions to prepare for this important test.

Who:

Whether it is reviewing with your tutor or talking to your English or math teacher about last minute study options, it is important to confide in your resources so that they can give you their  experienced advice. Talking to your guidance counselor is also a great way to know what sections to focus on and which tests to sign up for.

What:

It is important to make sure you have your calculator, your physical photo ID, a fully charged laptop, your printed ticket, and lastly some snacks. Having your physical ID is the only way you’ll be granted entrance to the exam. These materials are extremely crucial because without them, it would be unfortunate if you are not able to take the exam.

When:

The SAT tests are most commonly taken at 8am on a Saturday. It is key that you arrive on time to the exam because there are going to be many students and being on time will make the process run smoother.

Where:

You are able to take the SAT anywhere whether it’s at STA or different schools that might be closer to you. You can find your testing center options on the College Board website. A key tip is taking it at a place you are comfortable and familiar with.

Why:

This exam should be taken seriously because if you get good scores you can qualify for scholarships, and it will assist you in getting to the schools you prefer. Although it is important to prepare for,  the SAT is not the only available standardized test that you can take to qualify for Florida Bright Futures. It is important to remember you have options that can be best suited to you and your abilities.

Good luck to all and happy testing!
