BRRR!!! The 2025 hurricane season is finally in the past, and the season of sweaters and blankets has arrived! The weather forecast for the week of November 10, 2025, promises a refreshing break from the typical South Florida heat with lows in the 60s and highs in the 80s.
The arrival of cooler weather brings cozier fashion, and the STA student body’s attire is shifting to hoodies and sweatshirts, as well as other layers. This cold front has reminded the students of STA how quickly the weather can impact their daily lives, from clothing choices to how quickly they move between classes. The unexpected temperature change brought a change in routine and a fair share of laughs about the “Florida winter.”
Students eagerly embraced the cold, showing up to campus bundled in layers of STA spirit wear. A quick look around reveals nearly everyone in hoodies and sweatshirts, buz

zing with excitement about the unexpected weather, taking pictures with friends in their winter clothes, and enjoying this rare break from the Florida heat. Even teachers are joining in on the fun, trading their summer swag for sweaters and jackets.
JayJay Vital, a freshman at STA, said, “The moment I stepped outside on Tuesday morning, I knew it was time to dig my sweatshirt out of the closet! It was super gusty and freezing cold. I’m glad I get a chance to finally wear it! I detest the cold.”
“I’ve been in Florida for three years, and honestly, coming from Russia, I am used to much colder weather. This is only the second time I have put on my sweatshirt this year. In Russia, this feels like summer,” said Mark Anikandrov, a freshman.
The dean’s office has advised that when the weather permits for warmer clothes, it should only be STA attire. No un-affiliated clothing should be worn on campus, and, yes, that includes the blankets, which some students have been bringing to school! Approved STA winter attire includes not only hoodies and sweatshirts but also beanies and scarves embossed with the iconic “Aquinas A.”

Freshman, Reese Philips shared, “My friend bought my hat for me about a week ago because they saw the temperature and it was going to be super cold. It’s really comfortable! I hope it gets even colder so I get a chance to wear it!” Her friend, Caden Talus revealed that he had borrowed a hat from a friend because his head was freezing!
So, if you want to stay warm and stay out of the dean’s office, swing by the campus store to update your fit! Don’t forget to share your best winter-weather photos with the Raider Review on Instagram: @raiderreviewsta with the hashtag #STAywarm.
