The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders faced off against Lakeland Dreadnaughts in a blowout game on December 12, 2024. The Raiders triumphed in this game, scoring 34-0 with a dominant performance on all sides of the ball. In the first half, STA got out early and took the lead 17-0. During the second half, the Raiders put up another 17 points to win this game 34-0 with ease.
Many reporters had counted the Aquinas Raiders out, claiming, “ This is not their year. ” The Raiders were eager to prove the naysayers wrong and continue their legacy with this win. The team feels that this win is special because “… against all odds; all the tough losses; all the hardfought wins, the game that mattered the most was the best game played by this Aquinas Raiders team all year.” This was the sixth consecutive State Title for coach Roger Harriott and the 16th State Title for the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders.
