Captains are important because they set the tone and are an example for the rest of the team to follow. According to Coach Crowely, he looks for “strong character, integrity and leadership. They must represent our faith, family, tradition, and an excellent mindset because these are our STAndards.”
The second captain for this year’s Boys’ Lacrosse is Owen Thomas. Owen is a right handed defender and wreaks havoc for the opposing attackman. He is very aggressive, yet solid in his technical skills. He will be wearing number 9 on his jersey this spring. He brings a solid reputation back to the field this upcoming season after being chosen all county, all region, and First Team All American. When asked about his goal for the upcoming season, he said he wants “to drive everyone to succeed and have our team play with responsibility and character.” He’s confident that this can be accomplished by “upholding the previously set team values and holding each teammate to the same high standards.” Owen is committed to playing with grit this year and taking it to the next level at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where he has committed.
