On Sunday, January 14, the Green Bay Packers took on the Dallas Cowboys at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas, in a crucial game to decide who will move on to the Divisional Round in the playoffs.
1st Half
The Green Bay Packers started off the game quick with quarterback Jordan Love throwing the ball to Romeo Doubs for a gain of 23 yards up to the 50-yard line. A couple of plays later, Aaron Jones went on to rush for a 18-yard gain putting the Packers inside the 25. Three plays later, Aaron Jones scored on a 3-yard touchdown run to put the Packers up 7-0. On the next possession, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott went on to rush for an 18-yard gain picking up the first down on a 3rd and 3. Eventually they punted the ball back to Green Bay. On 3rd and 9, Jordan Love evaded the sack and threw a 28-yard pass to Romeo Doubs up to the Dallas 48-yard line. This led to a punt, leaving the Cowboys deep inside their territory. On 3rd & 5, a pass was intercepted by Green Bay cornerback Jaire Alexander to put his team inside the Cowboys 20-yard line. A couple of plays later Aaron Jones would go on to score his second rushing touchdown of the game putting Green Bay up 14-0. To open up their drive, Cowboy’s Tony Pollard rushed for an 11-yard gain. Jake Ferguson caught a 28-yard pass putting them on the Packers’ side of the field. After a series of unsuccessful plays, the Cowboys punted. Romeo Doubs caught a 41-yard pass moving the Packers across the field into Dallas Territory. A couple of plays later, Dontayvion Wicks caught a 20-yard touchdown pass to put them up 20-0. As the Cowboys were driving down the field, Darnell Savage intercepted a pass for a 65-yard pick 6 putting his team up 27-0. On the kickoff, Cowboys’ KaVontae Turpin rushed for a 45-yard return. The Cowboys then slowly drove up the field while taking time off the clock until Jake Ferguson was able to score a 2-yard touchdown pass to put the Cowboys on the board 27-7.
2nd Half
The Cowboys started off with possession in the 2nd half. They proceeded to drive up the field deep into Green Bay territory until they were stopped and settled for a 34-yard field goal by Brandon Aubrey to trail 27-10. The very next possession, Romeo Doubs picked up a 45-yard catch and gain, moving the Packers into scoring position. Green Bays’ Aaron Jones then scored an 8-yard touchdown to increase their lead to 34-10. The next possession, Micheal Gallup caught a 37-yard pass moving the Cowboys up the field. Tony Pollard then scored a 2-yard touchdown to trail 34-16. The next drive Aaron Jones, in two plays, rushed for 35 yards. The following play, Jordan Love found Luke Musgrave wide open for a 38-yard touchdown pass to increase their lead 41-16. The Cowboys’ following drive ended with a failed 4th down conversion putting Green Bay in a great field position. The Packers drove down 40 yards to score a two-yard passing touchdown to Romeo Doubs to go up 48-16. The Cowboys drove up the field with passes to Jake Ferguson, Micheal Gallup, and Ceedee Lamb until they reached the 7-yard line where Evan Ferguson scored a 7-yard touchdown to reduce the lead to 48-24. After a Packers 3-and-out, the Cowboys start the possession on their own 20. Dak Prescott found Ceedee for a 35- yard pass. Two plays later Evan Ferguson scored a 14-yard touchdown pass to reduce the lead to 48-32. This back and forth battle ended with the Packers winning by 48-32 and therefore moving to the divisional round.
