The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders and the McArthur Mustangs set off for a rematch in the regional final on November 28, 2025. The Mustangs won the coin toss, and elected to defer. The Raiders received the kick, and drove down the field on a promising drive, and ended up kicking a field goal. The Mustangs received the ball, but the Raiders’ defense got an opening stop, to give the Raiders the ball back on offense. The Mustang defense got a stop, and forced the Raiders to punt the ball over to their offense. The Raiders offense, drove down in Mustang territory and Mason Mallory rushed in for a touchdown to cap off their promising drive, The St. Thomas Aquinas defense got another stop, forcing McArthur to punt, and the Raiders got the ball back, and drove down the field, Mason Mallory connected to Julius Jones on a slant route for a touchdown. Wyatt Smith ended the first half with a sack.
The score at the half was 17-0. The Raiders kicked off to McArthur, and the Mustangs drove down the field and their quarterback rushed in the endzone to make the score 17-7. The Mustangs kicked off to the Raiders, and their defenses both forced each other to punt. The Raiders got the ball back, and Mason Mallory threw a long touchdown pass to Justice Fitzpatrick, to make the score 24-7. The Raiders continued to get stops, and Mason Mallory threw one final touchdown to Leroy Thomas, and the final score was 34-7.
Quarterback, Mason Mallory, shared, “It feels amazing to have this historic run with my brothers, especially during my senior year.” Regarding the game, Mallory said “ my mindset was to make sure we executed first, and I think the team did that amazing.” Mallory believes the Raiders will continue their successful run, “I am excited for the next game, the state championship, I feel like we are prepared to take victory.” The Raiders’ next game is the state semifinal and will be played against the Riverdale Raiders at Brian Piccolo Stadium.
