At 8:00 p.m. on February 4, 2025, the St. Thomas Aquinas Girls’ Soccer team played their first Regionals game against Braddock High School at the Brian Piccolo Stadium. This was their first time playing this team, so they didn’t know what to expect from them.
The STA Raiders went on the field focused and ready to play, prepared for anything that the Bulldogs brought out. They only needed to play the first half of the game, which was 40 minutes, because the STA girls mercy ruled them 8-0. The Raiders consistently kept possession of the ball, passing it around the Bulldogs, and finishing their opportunities on goal.
The girls who scored were:

Piper Battaglia (Jr.): 1
Belen Cassina (So.): 1
Madison McKeon (Jr.): 2
Madison Poleo (Jr.): 1
Bianca Raskin (Jr.): 3
Because she scored a hat trick (3 goals) and had two assists, the Junior midfielder, Bianca Raskin, was awarded the MVP of the match by Coach Brian Hantak. In this game, she was very critical in scoring and creating opportunities not just for herself but for her teammates to score. She had a part in 5 out of the 8 goals. With this, the STA Raiders moved onto the regional semifinals played on Friday, February 7th.
