On November 9th, 2024 the Aquinas Raiders’ Cross Country teams competed in the 4A Regionals at Tropical Park in Miami, hoping to qualify for the State Championships.
Varsity Girls
Starting off strong, Grace Finneran crossed the finish line in 1st place, finishing in a time of 19:00.50. Taylor Gold and Charlotte Lee finished in 5th and 7th with times of 19:43.30 and 20:21.00. Rebeca Cardenas finished in 10th with a time of 20:35.90. Ana Isabella Quingatuna and Remy Coia finished one behind each other in 30th and 31st. Angelica Cardenas was the last Raider to cross the finish line, shortly behind in 34th. WIth this strong performance the Lady Raiders finished 1st, easily qualifying for the Championship.
Varsity Boys
The first two Raiders to cross the finish line were Gustavo Perez and Jeremiah Holassie in 33rd and 37th place with times of 17:52.20 and 17:57.20. In 56th was Tyler Blake with a finishing time of 18:39.70. Following one behind the other were Ethan Maus and Marco Ristanio in 66h and 67th. Rounding off the Raiders were Alexander Selamn and Santiago Perez in 78th and 81st. The Raiders finished 8th overall being the last qualifiers for the State Championship.
Both teams advanced to the State Championship in Apalachee Regional Park, Tallahassee.
