The first part of the new Stranger Things: Season Five comes out November 25, 2025. This show has been going on for nine years, starting July 15, 2016. The show stars many actors including Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Caleb McLaughlin, and Gaten Matarazzo. Stranger Things is a science-fiction drama that is set in the 1980s in Hawkins, Indiana. Many people around the world have fallen in love with the thrill, humor and emotional moments the show produces.
Awards and Recognition
Stranger Things has earned more than 170 award nominations and has won more than 70, including 12 Primetime Emmy Awards. Their nominations include Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Casting, Outstanding Sound Editing, and Outstanding Music Supervision. The 4th season became Netflix’s most watched English-language series with over 1.3 billion viewing hours. Stranger Things also had a Broadway show casting Rosie Benton, Alex Breaux, Janie Brookshire, and many more stars. They have won a special Tony Award for their special effects. The show also won many other awards including the Olivier Awards for Best Entertainment/Comedy Play and Best Set Design.Stranger Things is known for its exciting twists and turns and constant cliff hangers.
The Finale
The final episodes will be released from November 26th to December 31st. The cast has been working to help promote their season. They use teasers, retail collaborations, and many more tactics. Online, star actors including Millie Bobby Brown, Sadie Sink, Finn Wolfhard, and Gaten Matarazzo have shared behind the scenes photos and videos. Netflix has also teamed up with Target to get over 150 different types of products in stores. Filming began in early 2024 after some delays. Most scenes were filmed in Atlanta, Georgia and others in New Mexico and California. As the show is reaching its final season, fans everywhere are coming up with new theories and explanations. Freshman Marianna Eng predicts that one of not many of the main characters will be killed off or end up extremely hurt. Fans wait restlessly for the expected twists, turns, and exciting scenes in the final season of Stranger Things.
Ms. Garrard, STA’s resident theatre instructor said, “I was so excited when I found out that the Duffer brothers cast their actual high school drama teacher as Miss Harris, the school teacher in season 5! This gives me hope that maybe someday one of my former students will pay it forward and cast me in a huge primetime hit!” Hope Hynes Love, drama teacher at East Chapel Hill High School, plays Holly Wheeler’s school teacher in Season 5.
