TRACK & FIELD

Congratulations to our Girls Track & Field team for capturing the 4A District Title and to our Boys Team for a strong 3rd Place Finish!

Keyara Belfort came in 1st place in the 400m hurdles. She achieved a new STA School Record & fastest time in the US!

There were several individual athletes that placed in top spots and we congratulate them all.

Congratulations to all of our student-athletes and coaches for advancing to regionals-let’s keep the momentum going.

BASEBALL

Varsity baseball won the district championship over Flanagan on Friday.

Brady Swartzwelder threw 4 no hit innings for the win, and there were home runs by Jake Carruthers, Nico Sabatino, and a grand slam by junior Yuniel Paredes.

The walk-off hit was delivered by Matthew Conger.

WATER POLO

The boys water polo team won the regional championship and qualified for the Final Four State Championship by defeating Miami Country Day School in coming from behind game with the score 10-9.

Marcell Varhalmi had 10 saves in the goal.

Lev Konnikov scored 6 goals, Sam Eastaugh – 2 goals, Matt Lapin and Jake Corbett scored one goal each.

The next game is the State semifinal on Friday, April 24th at Belen Jesuit Prep.

WATER POLO

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR GIRLS WATERPOLO TEAM FOR CAPTURING THEIR DISTRICT AND REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS.

The girls beat Miami Country Day 24-17 and Cooper City 16-7 to clinch their spot at States!

Top goal scorers last week were Riley Andres, Vika Konikov and Brie Geary.

The team put together a strong defensive stand in both games led by Angeles Berroa in goal!

This past weekend, the HOSA Leadership Team attended the State Leadership Conference in Orlando, where our chapter earned several prestigious awards.

Gianna is a sophomore at St. Thomas Aquinas. This is her first year on the Raider Review staff. As a member of the social media, she keeps up to date on trends and applies them to social media. Gianna’s favorite part of being on the Raider Review is being able to be included in on-campus events. She is a member of Aquinas Kindness and C.A.R.E Club. Her favorite movie is “Zootopia.”

Ms. Garrard is the faculty advisor for the Raider Review. She is also the Cappies mentor and director of the STA Players and Thespian Honor Society. Her favorite movie is “Nightmare Before Christmas.”
