Students seeking community service hours have the opportunity to volunteer at The Legacy Closet, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting families in need. This service opportunity allows students to contribute to a community based effort that provides clothing, household items, and other essentials to individuals and families experiencing hardship.
Volunteer shifts are available every Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The organization is located at 1103 Banks Road in Margate, Florida. With flexible hours offered throughout the week, students can choose times that best fit their schedules.
Volunteers are responsible for a variety of tasks that help maintain the organization’s daily operations. Duties include sorting donations, assisting families as they select items, and helping manage incoming donations. These responsibilities allow students to actively participate in the distribution process and support the organization’s mission.
In addition to earning community service hours, volunteers may receive lunch during their shifts. The experience also provides students with the opportunity to develop organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills while working in a service oriented environment.
Students interested in volunteering can contact the organization directly through the provided phone number, (954)-470-1118, or email [email protected] for more information.
