On Oct. 31st, the Saint Thomas Aquinas Raiders matched up against the Chaminade Madonna Lions. This game was very big, as last time the two played, Chaminade came out on top. The game was at Brian Piccolo stadium on Halloween, and everyone was excited. To start the game, the Lions received the ball and had a very promising drive going. They brought the ball all the way down to the Raiders 10 yard line, but the Raiders’ defense stood up. When the Lions attempted a field-goal kick, the ball was tipped and the attempt was no good. After a few punts back and fourth, the Lions were back in Raider territory, and this time they capitalized. A quarterback run put the first points on the board, taking the score to 7-0. The Raiders offense tried to respond, but was taken off the field fast.

The Raiders defense returned the favor, getting another stop, giving the offense another opportunity. On this drive, the Raiders drove the ball all the way down the field and Duke Daley ran in the touchdown. The rest of the first half was quiet, and the game went into halftime with a score of 7-7.The Raiders received the kick and tried to get a drive going, but punted the ball away. Chaminade got the ball back and capitalized, rushing it in to make the score 14-7. St Thomas wasn’t going to get hit in the mouth and not retaliate. Mason Mallory had an excellent long rushing touchdown to tie the game at 14. Chaminade’s offense was on a roll now with a long rushing touchdown to make the score 21-14. St Thomas’ offense got the ball back and got a few yards, but eventually punted the ball away. On Chaminade’s first play on offense, Samurai Howard got a key interception to get the raiders the ball back in key position. Julius Jones got a long deep pass, and Duke Daley rushed the ball in to tie up the game 21-21. On the Raiders’ kickoff, Joshua Wilson recovered a forced fumble to get the Raiders the ball back. John DiSalvatore then got a key field goal to make the score 24-21. Chaminade had the ball, and Daniel Norman forced a fumble to get the Raiders the ball back. John DiSalvatore kicked another crucial field goal to make the score 27-21. On the last play of the game, Justice Fitzpatrick sealed the game with an interception in this highly anticipated MaxPreps Game of the Week.
