Eras Tour Soon to Hit Miami

“I hit the ground running each night,” sings Taylor Swift in her eighth studio album, Folklore, a statement she has proven since the commencement of her record-breaking Eras Tour in March of 2023. The first US leg of the tour came to a close on August 9th, but not before enchanting 20 cities over the course of 52 nights. Her 3-hour performance follows an unprecedented structure that divides her 10-album discography into distinctive eras that are brought to life by color schemes, nostalgic costumes, and choreography. On the closing night of the first US leg, Swift announced 1989 (Taylor’s Version), which will be released in late October. Next up for the singer-songwriter is the international leg beginning on August 24 in Mexico City.

From the moment the first leg of the tour was announced, a gold rush for tickets ensued. Ticketmaster notoriously failed at handling the demand, with many tickets falling victim to resale bots. The frantic debacle led to a change in concert culture that may endure far beyond this era: fans are beginning to migrate across regions to attend concerts. A sense of urgency has developed surrounding the journey to acquire the perfect concert experience. As a result, tour stops are receiving an economic boost in sales not only for tickets, but also hotel rooms, merchandise and restaurants. According to Forbes, “The Eras Tour has the potential to generate a staggering $4.6 billion in consumer spending in the United States alone.” Clearly, some Swifties do not shy away from splurging.

In April, Floridians scrambled for their (seemingly) only chance to see Swift in concert by purchasing tickets at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. However, in an Instagram post on August 3rd, @taylorswift revealed her return to North America– namely, the cities of Miami, New Orleans, Indianapolis, and Toronto. In an attempt to avoid the chaos, Ticketmaster released a very finite amount of presale codes to verified fans. Many buyers expressed frustration with being waitlisted, even despite registering with several email addresses. The three Miami shows, on October 18th, 19th, and 20th of 2024, are being held at the Hard Rock Stadium, where Swift performed during her Reputation Tour in 2018. The venue has sold out for all three nights, but resale tickets are available for very lofty prices. We hope that our STA Swifties were able to secure tickets in Miami!
