On Thursday, February 5, 2026 the Aquinas Chamber Singers competed at the District Solo & Small Ensemble Music Performance Assessment held at Coral Springs High School. Under the direction of STA’s Choir Director, Wanda Drozdovitch, three vocal ensembles and seven soloists serenaded judges in the hopes of qualifying for the State MPA event in April.

All soloists and ensembles who earn Superior Ratings are able to advance to the next level of competition. The students demonstrated hard work, musical excellence, and professionalism in performance, receiving high scores on all of their vocal pieces. Victoria Mendez said, “Being my second year competing at MPA’s, I walked in prepared and walked out confident with the feedback I received and opportunities I was given for colleges.”

The superior ratings for the individual solo vocal performance include Mariana De Santis, Victoria Mendez, Mallory McKeon, Adrian Moncada, Elizabeth Gerhardt, Juliana Bohm, and Samuel Mays. The ensemble results are as follows: Large Show Choir – Superior Rating, Large Women’s Vocal Ensemble – Superior Rating, and Large Men’s Vocal Ensemble – Excellent Rating. Qualifying students are looking forward to planning their trip to the State Competition in April.
