In the 9th week of the NFL season, there were many close calls with the season heating up and playoffs right around the corner. The Baltimore Ravens had one of the most dominant performances of the week behind Lamar Jackson’s four-touchdown game in his first week back from injury, beating the Miami Dolphins 28–6. The 7-2 Denver Broncos surprisingly struggled against the Houston Texans, keeping in close in a 18–15 victory. The San Francisco 49ers have been playing great football with their backup quarterback Mac Jones, who defeated the New York Giants 34–24, and is now bringing controversy into the following weeks with many people wondering if him or other quarterback Brock Purdy will get the starting job in the near future. The Indianapolis Colts have no doubt looked like the most dominate team, but the Pittsburgh Steelers’ very own head coach Mike Tomlin was able to outsmart them in their 27–20 Victory.
The Carolina Panthers have just been rolling through their schedule. After starting 1-3, the Panthers are now 5-4 and just beat the Green Bay Packers 16-13, who have also had a tremendous season. The Minnesota Vikings are still doing decently well behind their rookie QB J.J. McCarthy, who helped Minnesota beat the Detroit Lions in a close 27–24 Victory. The Los Angeles Chargers, who are second in their division, struggled with what some people might say are the worst team in the NFL, the Tennessee Titans. However, a win is a win, Los Angeles defeated the Titans 27–20.
The next game was the Falcons vs the Patriots which ended in a score with 23-24. The Patriots are rolling with their 6th win in a row. Drake Maye is balling out of his mind, putting up MVP stats and looking like a top 3 MVP candidate. The Bears played an offensive heavy game, with the score being 47-42 against the Bengals, and the Bears ended up winning the game. This loss to the Bears has brought a lot of tension to the Bengals’ locker room. Superstar wide receiver Jamar Chase does not seem happy at all, and the defense is looking really bad. However, they are taking accountability for the loss. The Jaguars beat the Raiders in a really close game, with the score being 30-29. The game ended with a controversial call by the head coach of the Raiders, Pete Carroll, going for 2 points to win the game instead of taking the field goal to tie the game and send it to overtime. This was a great bounceback game for the Jaguars after getting crushed in their previous game. The Rams had an impressive win beating the Saints 34-10. Matthew Stafford has been balling and is looking like a top MVP candidate. The Rams offense is looking really good and are looking like contenders in the NFC. The game of the week, the Chiefs versus the Bills did not disappoint. The Bills ended up winning with the score being 28-21. The Bills defense played great, making Patrick Mahomes throw under 50 percent for the first time in his career. Josh Allen played great and is looking like the MVP favorite. James Cook really cooked this game, running for over 100 yards. The question is if the Bills can beat this team in the playoffs if they end up playing each other.
The Seahawks beat the Commanders 38-14 with the Seahawks looking like a top team in the league. Sam Darnold is playing out of his mind looking like a MVP candidate too. As for the Commanders, they are not looking so good, as their starting quarterback Jayden Daniels got hurt with a gruesome-looking injury. On Monday Night, the Cardinals defeated the Cowboys 27-17. Jacoby Brissett played great, and there are rumors that he might start over Kyler Murray. The Cowboys defense also continues to raise many questions, with fans asking if this defense is holding this team back. Both of these teams are trying to get into the playoffs.
With week 9 concluding, there were many big wins for teams and many questions people are asking about certain teams. It was a great week of football and fans can’t wait for the next week.
