On Sunday, February 2, 2025, Los Angeles and the Crypto.com Arena hosted the 2025 Grammy Awards. With the goal to highlight those who have made outstanding achievements in music, the Grammys is a place where the world’s top music industry professionals have the chance to be recognized for their hard work and talent. Former host of The Daily Show, Trevor Noah hosted his fifth consecutive Grammy. From paying tribute to the amazing artists in the room to showing concern for the LA wildfires, Noah began the night with tons of energy, ready to light the night up and get the show started!
The night began with a welcoming performance of “I LOVE LA TRIBUTE” with All Star Band, John Legend, Brad Paisley, Sheryl Crow, Brittany Howard, and St. Vincent. This performance was then followed by the hit song “BIRDS OF A FEATHER” by Billie Eilish. These two lively performances opened the doors for what was yet to come. According to The Recording Academy, 13,000 members of its academy voted on the nominees. These 13,000 people chose who they thought deserved each specific award, ultimately determining who would win the Grammy. Top invitees/nominees for the 2025 Grammys were:
- Billie Eilish: Nominated for seven Grammys, Billie Eilish was nominated specifically for Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Pop Solo Performance of the Year, Pop Vocal Album of the Year, Best Dance Pop Recording, Pop Duo/Group Performance. All of these nominations were either for her hit song “BIRDS OF A FEATHER” or her album, “Hit Me Hard and Soft.” This year Billie Eilish won no Grammys, and although walking away empty handed, was grateful for her experience.
- Taylor Swift: World sensation, Taylor Swift, was nominated for six Grammys for her album, “The Tortured Poet’s Department,” which was announced last year at the 2024 Grammy Awards. Taylor was nominated for Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Record of the year, Pop Vocal Album of the Year, Music Video of the Year (for her song “Fortnight” Ft. Post Malone) , and Pop Duo/Group Performance of the year. Just like Billie, she walked out without a Grammy, but she was recognized for her consistent support for the other artists around her.
- Beyonce: Superstar singer, Beyonce, was nominated for an impressive twelve Grammys. Beyonce was nominated in categories ranging from Album of the Year to Country Album of the Year. Having a successful night, Beyonce left with a Grammy for the Album of the Year, Country Album of the Year, and Best Country Duo/Group Performance, all for her album “COWBOY CARTER.” Her song “TEXAS HOLD EM’” was notably nominated for many Grammys as well.
- Benson Boone: After his memorable performance to his hit-single, “Beautiful Things,” Benson Boone was nominated for Best New Artist of the Year. Benson Boone began his career by auditioning for American Idol, but switched to the influencing world where he showcased his musical talents over social media. As he quickly gained popularity, Benson was quick to release this successful song that landed him a spot at the Grammys. Although he was not the winner, his performance is one that all will remember.
- Chappell Roan: Chappell Roan, singer and writer of the viral album “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess,” was nominated for five Grammys. Her album was nominated as Album of the Year, and her song “Good Luck, Babe!” was nominated as Song and Record of the Year. In the end, Chappell Roan ended the night with one Grammy for Best New Singer of the Year, and an unforgettable performance to her debut song, “Pink Pony Club.”
- Kendrick Lamar: The world-known rapper Kendrick Lamar was nominated for six Grammy Awards for his popular song, “Not Like Us.” Kendrick was nominated for Rap Song of the Year, Song of the Year, Rap Performance of the Year, Music Video of the Year, and Record of the Year. Many argue that Kendrick went home as the biggest winner of the 2025 Grammy Awards after winning five Grammys for his record. His song took the titles of Song of the year, Record of the Year, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, and Best Music Video.
- Sabrina Carpenter: World and social media superstar Sabrina Carpenter was nominated for six Grammys including, Pop Vocal Album of the Year, Pop Solo Performance of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, New Artist of the Year, and Record of the Year. These awards were nominated for her accomplished album, “Short n’ Sweet,” and many songs within the album like “Please, Please, Please” and “Espresso.” In the end, Sabrina took home one Grammy as the Best Pop Solo Performance.
- Charli XCX: Well-known singer Charli XCX, most notably known for her viral song, “Apple,” was nominated for an impressive eight Grammys. Her nominations ranged from Record of the Year to Music Video of the Year for her album “BRAT” and record “Apple.” Charli left the night with three Grammys: Best Dance Pop Recording (“Von Dutch”), Best Dance/Electronic Album (BRAT), and Best Recording Package (BRAT).
- Doechii: Doechii was nominated for three Grammys: Rap Album of the Year, New Artist of the Year, and Rap Performance of the Year. She won Best Rap Album of the Year for her debut album “Alligator Bites Never Heal.” With her time on stage, Doechii inspired and empowered young Black girls who are starting their journey in music and singing. Showing that their dreams are possible, Doechii had one successful night with an unforgettable performance and special message.
- Post Malone: Post Malone was nominated for a total of eight Grammy Awards in the categories: Country Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Music Video of the Year, Country Song of the Year, Pop Duo/Group Performance of the Year, Recording Package of the Year, and Country Duo/Group Performance of the Year. Although he did not win a Grammy, Post Malone is officially the most nominated performing artist without a win in Grammy history.

The 2025 Grammy Awards included many memorable performances by nominees and past winners.
