The Raider Boys’ Soccer Team has kicked off their season with wins, loses, and draws. In case you missed them, here is a recap of the first four games of the season.
STA vs. Pembroke Pines
In the first game of the season, the STA Boys varsity soccer team played against Pembroke Pines on November 7. The game ended in a 2-2 draw between the teams. Three of the Pembroke Pines players were handed yellow cards. St. Thomas’ goals were scored by senior Chase Carroll and junior Schuyler Selver. Assists were from senior Michael Bergstrom and sophomore Mateo Forato.
STA vs. Boca Raton
In the following game, STA took on the Boca Raton Bobcats on November 12. This game ended in STA’s first loss, losing 3-1. The three goals scored by Boca Raton were from Jaden Trautman, L. Milanez Esteves, and N. Leslie. After the game, St. Thomas had a total of six points for the season. Although the loss was disappointing, the team was motivated to secure a win moving forward.
STA vs. Coral Springs Charter
Saint Thomas Aquinas played Coral Springs Charter on the 13th of November. Thanks to two goals from Anthony Palumbo and one assist from Michael Bergstrom, the Raiders were victorious. Anthony Palumbo was also chosen as the St. Thomas Aquinas Player of the Match. Who else scored? This doesn’t add up. The final score was 4-0 for the Raiders, putting them at 1 win, 1 draw, and 1 loss record this school year.
STA vs. Monarch Knights
The Raiders visited the Monarch Knights on Monday November 18th. The Raiders were victorious winning 2-0. The Raiders #8 Ethan See was awarded as Player of the Match with a goal helping their victory. Mateo Forato also got on the score sheet and Chase Carroll with his great assists. STA has had a great start of this season and should be successful in the upcoming matches.
