Moves of the Week
After the stunning previous week with Davante Adams being traded to the Jets, there have been many rumors circulating for the trades coming into this week. With Rashee Rice out for the season with a knee injury that keeps him sidelined for the rest of the season. Meanwhile the Kansas City Chiefs have been in trade talks with several different teams for a receiver. Finally on October 23, a move was finally made. Deandre Hopkins, the former three-time All-Pro was traded from the Tennessee Titans to be a key piece for Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. The trade details included the Chiefs giving up a fifth-round pick that could become a fourth-round pick in return for getting a seasoned veteran wide-receiver. Another move made this week was the Seattle Seahawks sending former Miami Dolphin linebacker Jerome Baker to the Titans in return for a fourth-round pick and linebacker Ernest Jones IV.
Best Performances of the Week
Eagles RB Saquon Barkley and Ravens QB Lamar Jackson highlight the best performances of the week alongside Steelers undrafted rookie Defensive Back Beanie Bishop Jr. To begin, Saquon Barkley in his extremely anticipated comeback to play his former team, did not disappoint. Even after walking out to boos from his former team, Barkley performed extremely well. The former Giant made his comeback to New York with an average of 10.4 yards per carry with 176 yards and a touchdown leading his team to a pummeling 28-3 win. Later that day, the Pittsburgh Steelers took on the New York Jets. In Davante Adams’ debut, Beanie Bishop caught 2 interceptions with 2 pass deflections. Lastly, the MVP frontrunner Lamar Jackson played fantastically against the Buccaneers with 281 yards, 5 total touchdowns, and a perfect passer rating in their 41-31 win on Monday.
Injuries to Watch
Also during the Monday Night Football game, Tampa Bay WR Chris Godwin went down with an extremely heartbreaking injury. The receiver dislocated his ankle in the final minutes of the game. Another season-ending injury included the Niners WR Brandon Aiyuk, who signed a four-year 120 million dollar contract in the offseason. The outstanding receiver tore his ACL and PCL in the Niners’ loss against the Chiefs. Other minor injuries include DK Metcalf, Jayden Daniels, and JuJu Smith-Schuster who are all questionable for their games this week.
