On October 29th, the STA Players hosted their annual haunted house event from 3:00PM-6:00PM in the Bienes Center for the Arts. The theme for the Haunted house this year was “Abandoned Circus” and the event served as a fundraiser for the International Thespian Honor Society. The scary cast included the Tech Theatre Class taught by Mr. Snell, Rebecca Hilbert, and members of the Thespian Honor Society, who hope that the proceeds from this event will help cover the costs of their annual trek to the Florida State Thespian Competition in Tampa.

Senior, Rebecca Hilbert, took on dual roles as the Haunted House director and the prop coordinator. She oversaw the creative vision for each room, managed casting processes, and provided leadership throughout rehearsals and the event itself. Every part of the haunted house was planned with meticulous attention and careful planning. Hilbert said, “I believe that the event went extremely well,” and “the scare actors exceeded all of my original expectations, making the experience both fearful and fun for everyone who came through.” The themes were crafted to reflect Halloween tradition and created an atmosphere for suspense and fear.

The thespians were able to raise over $500, with approximately 150 attendees during the 3-hour haunting. All the earnings from the event went to the STA Thespians/Drama Club. Many other clubs and organizations were able to contribute to the event, including the STA Technical Theater Class, which helped with handling all of the technical and effects set-up and operations, and The STA Steel Drum Club that performed as entertainment in the outside area. STA Students were also able to contribute through a donation drive for costumes and props.
