On Thursday, May 23rd, the class of 2025 began their senior year with a very important milestone: Senior Step-Up Day. Juniors arrived at school early to enjoy a traditional breakfast tailgate on the top floor of the parking garage. Many of them took pictures with their decorated senior step-up themed cars and crowns before attending the rally during 6th period. Leading up to step-up day itself, the week was filled with themed dress up days for the juniors: they could wear STA pride on Monday, a neon shirt on Tuesday, and a jersey on Wednesday.

Junior Luciana Molina is ecstatic to see what lies ahead:  “I’m so excited to see where everyone’s hard work ends up taking them. My favorite part of step-up was taking pictures with all my friends and just realizing that we only have a year left with each other. I hope to see our class really unite and become close to enjoy the last year. Something we can do differently is definitely take advantage of the resources STA has and make it the best year yet.”

Step-up Day is a rite of passage for juniors that celebrates the completion of their junior year and the transition into senior year. The tradition occurs once the graduating class leaves campus and the juniors are now the only upperclassmen. For some rising seniors, this transition is bittersweet. Celeste Fabrikant reminisced on being a freshman observing Step-up Day and explained how she felt surprised with how quickly the morning went by. Luckily, Celeste and the rest of the class of 2025 immortalized the day with many, many pictures.

Congratulations to all of the rising seniors and best of luck with all of the milestones to come!
