Members of the Aquinas Kindness Club look forward to its yearly visits to local schools, and St. David Catholic School in Davie is one of their destinations. The goal of the Aquinas Kindness club members is to spread awareness about bullying and the negative effects it can have on younger children, while encouraging kindness to all. Aquinas Kindness goes on many retreats like this one to spread the spirit of kindness to the younger generation. Other schools they visit include: Saint Anthony, Saint Gregory, and Saint Mark’s.

When the club members arrived at St. David, they were sorted into groups based on their gender. This way, the St. David students could better relate to the St. Thomas students who were leading the discussion. The discussion covered the adverse effects of bullying or teasing, but it also incorporated the positive effects of acts of kindness. Aquinas Kindness members also utilized activities to encourage students to be comfortable, such as making posters with kind words and things they love, then sharing it with fellow students.
With the visit to Saint David, Aquinas Kindness aimed to show younger students that they are not alone, and kindness is always the best option. It’s easy to have doubts in middle school and feel alone, so STA students seized the opportunity to show the importance of faith. Undoubtedly, this visit left a lasting impression on the students, and Aquinas Kindness will go on to spread their positivity, even farther with the next visit.
