With four back to back state championships, St Thomas Aquinas High School’s football team’s impressive 2023 season record, 14-1, has once again put them in the championship playoffs. The Raiders worked hard all season long. Practicing, training, “summer sacrifice”, analyzing tape and learning plays are all part of the everyday preparation for this team. Coach Harriet helped to instill a winning mindset. The team’s motto, “ You Go, We Go” has led the Raiders to fourteen state championship successes in the school’s history.
Logan Husband #55, a junior, who plays right tackle and defensive end says, “It’s time to lock in. We have to learn from our mistakes, make corrections so that we can be the best versions of ourselves for the playoffs.” What will it take for this year’s team to make Florida history by winning five state championships in a row? The extra step the team is taking this year is to make sure the players stay healthy. “We are going to the trainers and having less contact with others so the whole team stays healthy.” A strong body, strong mind and strong spirit will hopefully lead the Raiders to victory!
