Relay for Life

The Relay for Life is an annual fundraiser for Cancer Awareness that will be taking place on Saturday, April 2nd from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m at the Brian Piccolo Stadium on STA’s campus. This celebration of life hopes to one day find a cure for cancer by funding research and awareness.

There are several different ways to participate in the relay at Saint Thomas Aquinas. The first way that volunteers can help is by walking laps in honor of those living with cancer and those who have passed away from it. A second way to help is by playing games at the booths, which will be set up at the event. Each game costs one dollar, with all funds donated toward the cause. Another option is to join the Cupcake Eating Contest. Additionally, supporters may donate eight or more inches of their hair, which will be used to create wigs for cancer patients. Other activities at the event will include the 3 v 3 Volleyball game against the teachers, the lip sync battle, and a larger-than-life human foosball tournament.

Volunteers can also sign up to assist with cleanup and breakdown after the relay, which will happen from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. The deadline to register for the event is March 31, 2022. Saint Thomas Aquinas High School students can also earn service hours for helping at the relay. Registration information can be found on the Blackboard carousel, or students can register
