2023 Halloween Trends

As the spooky season has come to an end, one of the best parts of Halloween was dressing up in cute or scary costumes. Many people take their costume planning very seriously, and one of the joys of Halloween is witnessing the creativity in your own or others’ costumes. The Raider Review has gathered some trendy costumes for this year, and they are all very clever.

With the release of the new Barbie movie, a popular duo costume this year is the classic Barbie and Ken, suitable for couples or friends. Due to the release of the new series Wednesday, going as Wednesday Addams was very trendy. The Little Mermaid has inspired many to go as Ariel, so you may have seen plenty of seashells and people of all ages dressed as the iconic princess of the sea. If you enjoy DIY costumes, the Super Bowl Rihanna outfit from this year would be perfect. And, of course cops, firefighters, or military-themed costumes, have remained classics and trend every year.

Junior Drew Sobczak shared, “Halloween is definitely my favorite holiday. I love dressing up and being creative. This year, I went as an inmate, and my friend was a cop. It’s a classic duo costume and a great idea!” Another senior said, “For Halloween, I like to get creative, so I went as the Joker, and my friend was Batman.” Batman is a very popular costume this year, so I’m sure you saw Batman showing up for treats. Sophomore Richie Grab mentioned, “For Halloween, I dressed in a white shirt with fake blood. I kept it simple.” This Halloween of 2023 has been very creative and one to remember. Happy Halloween to all!
