As the first quarter has officially come to an end, it is safe to say the 2025-2026 school year has already been filled with spirit, success, and memorable moments. From themed homecoming events to exciting international football games, this school year is already unforgettable.
One of the highlights of the quarter was STA Homecoming week, where students embraced fun themes such as “Country vs. Country Club” and “Throwback Thursday”. Meanwhile, students practiced in the early mornings for the homecoming skit, which was performed during the Friday pep rally! Students proudly wore their class colors and watched as the homecoming court was announced. Games were played, and skits were performed. One student, Michelle Summers, said her favorite part of the week was “performing [while] wearing a bright pink bob and tutu”. Another student, Markus Simpson, said that “the pep rally was the highlight of [his] week”.
This quarter also featured many Raider football wins in both home and away games. One of these victories was STA’s Senior Night, honoring senior football players, band members, and sports management team members. Later, towards the end of the quarter, the football team traveled to London, England to play against the NFL Academy. Students in the cafeteria cheered as the Raiders scored touchdowns. Rowdy Raiders member Malkia Emilien stated, “The cafeteria felt electric!”
Students also participated in school spirit through clubs and community events. Community service events such as Jack and Jill, an organization which works with the Young at Heart club here at STA, has officially started again, offering students five service hours to tutor and play with children at a local elementary school. HOSA hosted a Bingo game after school, offering prizes like $25 gift cards, a Stanley Cup, and even AirPods! Students had the chance to connect, compete, and win exciting prizes.
The first quarter of the 2025-2026 school year is now complete, but the memories are ever-lasting and will continue to carry us into the rest of the year. With Halloween, Christmas spirit week, and Cailini on the horizon, there is only more to look forward to!
