STA Serves
On Thursday, September 18, STA Serves gathered for its first official club retreat at Saint Sebastian Church in Fort Lauderdale. The retreat offered students at STA the opportunity to come together as a community and deepen their spiritual lives, as well as their dedication to serve others. Upon arrival, the students were welcomed by the staff and members of St. Sebastian School. The retreat began with a prayer led by one of the students of STA Serves. This allowed the younger students to absorb the experience and make it memorable.
Later, STA Serve members participated in small group discussions where they shared their own experiences of doing community service and discussed its importance to the group. Members of the club then participated in a brief activity with the younger students, teaching them the importance of their faith and individuality. STA Serves is about leadership and doing good deeds for others. Members also want to teach kids the value of Christ and his mission. The goal is to uplift the younger generations and show them the meaning of service.
During the retreat, students at Saint Thomas Aquinas hope to share the importance of community service and inspire others. As the club continues to go on more field trips throughout the year, students who are interested in participating can become members of the STA Serves club. If you would like to join this club, you can contact the moderator, [email protected], and the Co-president, [email protected], for more information on being a member of STA Serves.
