In the 45’ minute, Atletico equalized before half time. This didn’t look like much for the Real Madrid fans, but six minutes later, Arda Guler gave Atletico Madrid a penalty kick after tackling Gonzalez in the face. Julian Alvarez then scored the penalty kick for Atletico Madrid to make it 3-2. With Real Madrid already down, Atletico weren’t done just yet, wanting to make sure they secure the victory. Atletico was given a freekick from outside the box after a foul from Real Madrid’s Alvaro Carreras. It was the 63’ minute, and Julian Alvarez was up to take the shot. With one kick, he hit it behind Real Madrid’s Thibaut Courtois, making it 4-2 in only the 63’ minute. This was already enough to get the win for Atletico, but they still wanted more. Not much happened in the last thirty minutes, but in the 90’ minute, Antoine Griezmann ran behind the defense and received a pass that got him the goal to seal Atletico’s 5-2 victory over Real Madrid. This loss set Real Madrid to second place in the table, right behind Barcelona.
