A view of the Chapel Mural, installed in the summer of 2025.
St. Thomas Aquinas’ campus is standing out among the crowd of Catholic Schools with its new Chapel Mural that brings STA’s morals of Faith, Family, Tradition and Excellence all into one lively mural. The mural not only highlights the values of the school, but provides a new refreshing environment for the students and staff to admire. Dr. Denise Aloma, the principal of STA, played a huge role in the transition of this beautiful mural from the plain beige wall that it once was. Executive Director, Robert Biasotti stated, “Nothing that grand could’ve been done without either her as the idea person behind it, or without her approval.” The whole project took four months to complete; no easy feat in the hot summer months considering that it was worked on from June to September of 2025.

The main symbol in the mural is the bird or dove in the middle and it represents the Holy Spirit. Biasotti elaborated on this point saying, “The way it’s done for me, the Holy Spirit is so alive in the moment, it reminds me… that the phoenix has to rise from its own ashes. It is this kind of renewal with a massive amount of energy that it hits me visually.” This further explains the energy that the mural gives off and the overall vibe. It feels radioactive, but in a good way. The woman in the mural is depicted as Mary; the painting shows her expression and the grief in her face when Jesus died, which is similar to the facial expression of Mary on the statue right in front of the mural. This demonstrates the attention to detail and dedication that the artist put into his artwork. The students at Saint Thomas Aquinas feel a renewal of faith brought on by the addition of the mural.
