With legends such as Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar Jr., and many more players edging at the end of their careers, a new era of soccer is here and there are many brilliant players dominating the field. With all these players, a rise of young prospects are flocking in with people like Lamine Yamal, Desire Doue, Arda Guler, and Pau Cubarsi, and that’s just to name a few. These young players are taking over the game like how Lamine Yamal was already nominated for the Ballon d’or at 18 years old. This era without a doubt has the potential to rewrite soccer history with up and coming stars.. Let’s get into the stats of some of these young prodigies..
Lamine Yamal
Lamine Yamal at the moment is already considered one of the best players right now and he’s only 18 years old. His stats back him up with him having 43 goals in assists in the 2024-2025 season. What’s even more impressive is him winning the golden boy award at 17 years old and winning a European National Cup in the 2024 Euro Cup. This is one of the most valuable trophies a player can win and he won it at 16 years of age. Lamine Yamal is already competing for records with him having 226 completed dribbles in the 24-25 season. Disregarding stats, his most remembered performance was Barcelona against Inter Milan in the Champions League Semi- Finals second leg. He didn’t get any goals or assists in that game and he also lost but his ongoing attacks and key passes got him a 8.8 match rating.
Desire Doue
Doue had an impressive season with PSG winning the league title, Coupe de France, the UEFA Super Cup, and the UEFA Champions League cup. With all these trophies he’s the favorite to win the golden boy trophy this year. He holds the title of being the youngest player with the highest rating in a Champions League Final and this shows with his wonderful performance in the champions league final. He got two goals and an assist to win the championship in a 5-0 victory against Inter Milan.
Kenan Yildiz
Yildiz isn’t as recognized as Lamine Yamal or Doue, but that doesn’t take away the fact that he is a big part of Juventus. Starting off the season he has played three matches and already has one goal and three assists. He played against Inter Milan on September 13, 2025 and scored an important goal to give them the 4-3 victory over Inter Milan and he played against B. Dortmund on September 16, 2025 in the champions league and scored a wonderful goal against them. He may not be winning trophies but he is a staple for Juventus to have a good season.
These three mentioned in the article are only some of the many young prodigies that are taking soccer by storm and we may see some of them becoming all-time greats in the future. The soccer legends will be missed but it’s time for a new era and new young talents.
