As the international break in soccer finishes, we go into the new 2025-2026 season. This came just in time, as the most prestigious trophy in club soccer is back: The Champions League. The drawings for the games were settled on August 28, by the one and only Zlatan Ibrahimovic himself. Some of the games that are going to be held may break the internet with their intensity.
The first game fans will want to watch is between the Premier League champions, Liverpool, versus the kings of the Champions League themselves, Real Madrid. This action-packed game will take place on November 4, at the famous and atmospheric Anfield, Liverpool´s home stadium. This game will also be heated thanks to Liverpool’s own Trent Alexander Arnold’s departure at the end of last season to go to Real Madrid. This angered Liverpool fans and they booed him for it. To add to the intensity of this game, Liverpool spent over 400 million Euros over the summer for five amazing players: Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike, Florian Writz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez. Adding these players will elevate their team from last season. Real Madrid won´t give up easily, though, as they have some of the best: Xabi Alonso as manager,Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham, Thibaut Courtois, Vini Jr., Federico Valverde, Rodrygo, Arda Guler, and more. This is sure to give Liverpool a run for their money.
The next game will surely keep fans on the edge of their seats. This game is between PSG and Barcelona. This is the game everyone hoped for last season, but never happened. Statistically, these are the two best teams in the world. They will go head-to-head in a thrilling match on October 1 with the likes of Desire Doue, Ousmane Dembele, Lamine Yamal, Raphinia, Pedri, Vitinha, Joao Neves, Robert Lewandowski, and more world class players. This game will be played at PSG´s home stadium, Parc des Princes.
Another Champions League game worth watching takes us again to Paris and the Parc Des Princes as PSG faces off against an imposing foe, Bayern Munchen. Bayern has the likes of Harry Kane, Jamal Musiala, Luis Diaz, Joshua Kimmich, and Michael Olise to go up against the defending Champions League winner, PSG, and their world class defense. This game will also take place on November 4.
The last two games to watch out for are Chelsea vs. Barcelona and Manchester City vs. Real Madrid. Chelsea, the defending Club World Cup champions with Cole Palmer and manager Enzo Marasca, will go up against one of the teams who are favored to win it all: Barcelona. Ironically, when players were asked what team they most wanted to face in the Champions League, the team all said Barcelona. Even though it will be tough, Chelsea destroyed PSG two months ago, who had defeated every world class team, in the final of the Club World Cup. This game will take place on November 25 at the famous Stamford Bridge.
Saving the best for last is the match that FIFA always wants to see every single season: Manchester City vs. the formidable Real Madrid. Every year, Man City faces Real Madrid at least once during the Champions League season, for good reason. This matchup has given us pure drama over the last few years. Mbappe’s hat-trick, the incredible comeback a few years ago, and the thrilling penalty shoot-out 2 seasons ago. No matter what season it is, the giants of Manchester and the kings of the UEFA Champions League go against each other and give us matches you won´t forget.
