Week two of the 2025 NFL season had a lot going on. Some games were close to the finish, while others were one-sided from the start. There were teams scoring many points, others playing tough defense, and even a few upsets that nobody expected.
The week started Thursday night, September 11, with the Green Bay Packers beating the Washington Commanders 27-18. Green Bay’s defense made key stops to finish the game. On Sunday, September 14, the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants played one of the most exciting day games. The Cowboys won 40-37 in a close shootout that had fans on the edge of their seats.
A few teams showed their strength. The Baltimore Ravens crushed the Cleveland Browns 41-17 with an offense that could not be stopped. The Detroit Lions had the biggest win of the week, blowing out the Chicago Bears 52-21, and proving they are serious contenders. The Seattle Seahawks also looked good, beating the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-17 with solid play on both sides of the ball, and the Buffalo Bills continued their dominance beating the New York Jets 30-10.
Some games were very close. The Indianapolis Colts edged out the Denver Broncos 29-28 with a game-winning field goal. The Arizona Cardinals beat the Carolina Panthers 27-22, and the Bengals outlasted the Jaguars 31-27 in another thriller. The San Francisco 49ers held on to beat the New Orleans Saints 26-21. In a rematch of last year’sSuperbowl, the Eagles once again came out on top, beating Chiefs 20-17.
Sunday Night Football belonged to defense: the Atlanta Falcons shut down the Minnesota Vikings 22-6 with tight coverage and strong tackling. On Monday night, September 15, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers held off the Houston Texans 20-19, and the Los Angeles Chargers topped the Las Vegas Raiders 20-9 to close the week.
After two weeks, a few teams are starting to stand out. The Bills and Packers look really tough to beat, while the Chiefs need to bounce back. People are starting to say the Chiefs’ dynasty might be over, meaning they really need to step their game up. With week three coming up, the season already feels unpredictable and fun to watch .
