Aquinas Raiders prepare to take on the Boyd Anderson Cobras at the Brian Piccolo Stadium.
The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders Varsity football team faced off against the Boyd Anderson Cobras in a blowout game on August 29, 2025. After coming off a 26-23 hardfought loss the previous week during their ESPN game they were ready for a win. The game was set for a 7 p.m. kick-off but due to rain delays the game started at 9:47 p.m.
Despite the rainy conditions STA started off with a punt return for a touchdown just two minutes into the game by Jermiyah Douglas giving them a quick lead. This was not the only special teams touchdown of the game as St. Thomas had four; two came from Jermiyah Douglas and the rest came from Jordan Roache and Shiloh Dent. In the middle of the first half, lightning struck within the area forcing a delay. When the game started back up so did the domination; at the end of the first half, the Raiders led 51-0. The Boyd Anderson Cobras were fighting to defend their name but the Raiders did not slow down. At Halftime, the Raider Regiment performed their act for the crowd as everyone watched their showcase of school pride and excitement. Throughout the rest of the game, every player on the St. Thomas team got the chance to play. The Cobras got into the endzone in the fourth quarter showing their determination although it was not enough to keep up with the Raiders.
The final score was 72-6 Saint Thomas. The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders will be on the road to play their first away game on Friday, September 5th vs Columbus High School. Boyd Anderson will play Fort Lauderdale High School for their next game, looking for their own bounce-back win.
