On May 20th, 2025, the third round of the NBA playoffs tipped off in the Western Conference. The Oklahoma City Thunder have a lot of young talent on the team, led by league MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. For the Minnesota Timberwolves, they are leaning on superstar Anthony Edwards with a supporting cast. To start the game off, both teams were pretty even, with the Timberwolves up by three points at the end of the first quarter. These teams ended up being toe-to-toe going into the half, with the Timberwolves being up by four points.
The second half is where things took a turn for the Thunder. Their sold-out home arena contributed heavily, bringing energy after every shot or good play on defense. The Thunder ended the third quarter up ten points, making it a 14-point swing in the third quarter. After being up, the Thunder continued to clamp down on the Timberwolves, holding them to 40 points in the second half and outshooting them by 30 points in the second half to take a 26-point win at home, with the final score being 114–88.
