On May 14th, 2025, the Warriors were on the brink of elimination without star player Stephen Curry. The Timberwolves led the series 3-1, with the series only being 1-1 when Stephen Curry went down with an injury. The Minnesota Timberwolves took full advantage. With a two-game lead, they made this game the win-or-go-home game for the Golden State Warriors at The Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The winner of this series decides who goes to the Western Conference Finals to face off against the winner of the Denver Nuggets and the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Minnesota Timberwolves, led by 23-year-old superstar Anthony Edwards, started hot by ending the first quarter up seven points, leading 30-23. The Warriors needed to make an immediate change, but the Timberwolves kept applying pressure, going up by 15 points at halftime in an elimination game, with the score being 62-47. Without Stephen Curry playing, the Warriors were undermanned and couldn’t keep up with the Timberwolves. The final score was 121-110 with a Timberwolves win. With this, the Timberwolves advance to the Western Conference Finals while the Warriors are eliminated and are looking forward to next season.
