On May 3rd, the STA Track team ran, threw, and jumped at the FHSAA 4A Region 4 track and field qualifiers at Coral Springs High School. The girls and boys competed in a range of events starting from the 100-meter dash all the way up to the 2 mile run, covering all events in between including hurdles, throwing, jumping, and vaulting events.
The girls successfully won the Regional Finals Championship placing them on the road for the State Championship on May 10th. They have an incredible chance to not only place but to win the 4A Championship.

On the girls side starting in the 100-meter dash, STA had 2 students qualify for states: Arianna Woolcock and Jordyn Downing, placing 2nd and 3rd in the race. Arianna Woolcock also placed 3rd in the 200-meter dash securing a spot at the state finals meet. Next, Shanel Morgan placed 5th, running a time of 56.4 seconds in the 400-meter dash qualifying for States. Followed by, Grace Finneran, who ran 2:18 in the 800-meter run and secured a 2nd place finish. Right after this she competed in the 1600 and placed 1st with a time of 5:02. Shortly after, freshman Taylor Gold came in 3rd place in the mile; both qualifying for states. Lastly, for field events, Arianna Allen and Kelyse Jackson placed 1st and 2nd in the 100-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles, back to back qualifying for states. Summer Ramdeen placed 1st in the high jump and is on the road to a win at states. Gabrielle Pridgeon triple jumped and placed 4th, qualifying for states as well.

On the boys’ side, Phillip Goodrich placed 18th in the 100 and Jeremiah Holassie placed 8th in the 800. The boys 4×100 team placed 9th and Erik Murphy placed 19th in the 110 Hurdles while Tyler Blake finished 22nd in the boys’ 400 Hurdles. Elijah D’Oleo won the boys’ high jump, jumping 2.01m and qualifying for states. Donavon Adras and Kayin Liddie placed 6th and 15th in the long jump and Parker Hawkins and Kingston Ross placed 6th and 8th in the pole vault. Christian Moreau won the boys’ discus throwing 45.36 and shot put with a throw of 17.53, qualifying for states in both.
