The Boston Celtics and the New York Knicks started round two in Boston, with the Celtics being a major favorite in the series. Two Juggernauts came out of the Eastern Conference, with Clutch Player of the Year Jalen Brunson representing the Knicks and Six-Time NBA All-Star Jayson Tatum representing the Celtics. The Celtics entered this game highly favored, being the two seed in the East, and the Knicks were the four seed in the East.
The First half of the game was dominated by the Celtics with a 17 point half from Jayson Tatum which gave the Celtics a 16 Point lead going into halftime hopeful to get a game one win and start the series out hot with a 1-0 lead. The Knicks hoped to get a grip and fight back in this game. The Knicks found themselves down 20 points in the Second Half, and the game looked far gone. The Knicks didn’t quit, they started coming back, fighting back, only being a nine-point deficit going into the 4th quarter. In the 4th Quarter, the Knicks turned up and started going back and forth with the Celtics, and ultimately forced overtime with a clutch Jalen Brunson three with 4 seconds left in the game. In Overtime, the Knicks overpowered the Celtics, losing by three. The Knicks overcome a 20-point deficit to steal a game on the road and go up 1-0 versus the two-seeded Celtics.
