The Minnesota Timberwolves and the Los Angeles Lakers faced off in Game 4 of the first round of the NBA Playoffs on April 27th, 2025. This series has a lot of talent on the court, with superstar players such as Lebron James and Luka Doncic for the Lakers and Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle for the Timberwolves. This was a significant game because if the Lakers didn’t win, they would fall to 3-1 in the series, which is very hard to come back from. Lakers star Luka Doncic had entirely recovered from his illness, which held him back in their Game 3 loss. The first half was filled with superstar takeovers, with Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards having 19 points and Lebron and Luka combining for 43 points.

To start the second half, the Lakers came out hot with a 14-0 run to take a commanding 11-point lead, which they used to cruise into the fourth quarter up by 10. However, when the fourth quarter came, it was Anthony Edwards’ time to shine. On the back of a 43-point game and a 16-point fourth quarter game from Anthony Edwards, the Timberwolves took their first lead since halftime. With 3:21 left in the fourth quarter, Naz Reid hit a 3-point shot to take a 108-107 lead. Then, with 10 seconds left, Anthony Edwards drove to the basket and lost the ball, but upon further review, it was changed to a foul on Lebron James, ultimately leading to the Lakers’ 113-116 loss.
