Sunday, January 19, was slated with the two MVP frontrunners, Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen, facing off to reserve their spot to play in the AFC Championship Game.
The game started off with touchdowns from Ravens WR Rashod Bateman and Bills RB Ray Davis to make the score 7-7. Ravens Quarterback Lamar Jackson threw an interception and a possession that was later followed by a Lamar Jackson fumble that turned into a touchdown by Bills Quarterback Josh Allen. Josh Allen had yet another rushing touchdown right before the half to push their lead to 11, with the Bills going up 21-10 at halftime.
Even when down 11, the Ravens still put up a fight. They came out of halftime and scored on back-to-back possessions with a Justin Tucker field goal and Derrick Henry rushing touchdown. Starting off the fourth quarter, Bills Kicker Tyler Bass made a field goal, which was followed by a costly fumble by Ravens TE Mark Andrews. The fumble then led to another field goal, making the score 27-19. With 5 minutes left, Lamar Jackson needed to get a touchdown and get the 2-point conversion to bring it into overtime. Lamar Jackson went on to prove why he’s a MVP candidate by going down the field and throwing a touchdown pass to TE Isaiah Likely to bring the Ravens within 2. On the 2-pt conversion, Lamar Jackson rolled out to his right and threw to a wide open Mark Andrews, who dropped the pass, ending the Ravens season in a 27-25 loss.
