The Boys’ Volleyball team has officially kicked off their 2025 season, with the first tryouts held on February 10th and February 12th. The tryouts attracted an impressive turnout of many athletes from all four grade levels. The first practice was held a day later, as everyone met their new teammates and coaches.

The Varsity lineup is not one to miss, starting with the freshmen: Joseph Virginio will play libero and defensive specialist, and Elijah Lamb will be a setter and an opposite hitter.
Moving onto sophomores: Jashon Zeigler plays middle hitter, outside hitter, and opposite hitter, and Christian Nicholson is on the court as a middle hitter.
Representing juniors are two outside hitters, John Virginio and Joseph Strong. Additionally, Adriano Chiabra plays as a setter and Kamaal Medina as an opposite hitter.
Finally, five seniors will take the court this season. On defense is Eyen Beharry, who plays libero and defensive specialist; connecting the pass with the hit is Jacob Eco as a setter. Up front, Jordan Diaz delivers kills as an outside hitter, while Luke Swadener hits on the opposite side, alongside setting. Finally, Charles Campbell is a middle hitter.
The JV line up is no less, starting with the Freshman we have Connor Frye and Derek Brown both playing opposite hitter, outside hitter, and setter. Next, the sophomores include Giordano Pernas as libero, Adrian West and James Jean both playing middle hitter, Robert Pedragosa as outside hitter and Ramses Lawrence playing setter. Last but not least, Junior Adrian Moncada holding down the defense playing defensive specialist.

As the season approaches, both teams continue to practice everyday after school to build their strength together. Varsity is led by both Coach Lam and Coach Viginio and JV is led By Coach Fultz and Coach Yamashita. All coaches have worked hard and dedicated their time and knowledge to these teams to prepare each and every player for their season and lead St. Thomas Aquinas to a Boys’ Volleyball State Championship.
