On Sunday, January 26, 2025, the NFC Championship commenced with the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Commanders. The Eagles relied on their star running back, Saquon Barkley, while the Commanders leaned upon their rookie quarterback, Jayden Daniels. With a win, Daniels would be the first rookie quarterback to start in a Super Bowl. On the Eagles first offensive play of the game, Barkely ran a 60-yard touchdown. The Eagles soon caught fire and did not look back. The Commanders fought hard— however—they were outmatched. Jalen Hurts threw for 246 yards and twenty completions. The Eagles defense forced four turnovers and accounted for three sacks. The Eagles dominated with a final score of 55-23. The Eagles played against the Kansas City Chiefs on February 9th, 2025, in Super Bowl LIX, for a long-awaited rematch. The Washington Commanders will reflect on the 2024-2025 season and look ahead to next year.
