At 7:00 p.m. on February 12, 2025, the St. Thomas Aquinas Girls’ soccer team played their regional finals game against Cooper City High School at the Brian Piccolo Stadium. Previously, these two teams met on the soccer field on January 30th for district finals, and Saint Thomas won 6-1. In spite of this loss, the Cowboys advanced to the playoffs and had the opportunity to redeem themselves in the regional finals. Knowing that the Cowboys would not go down without a fight, the Raiders analyzed their opponent and prepared to dominate on the field.
Since the Raiders played the Cowboys only three games earlier, they knew what to expect and used that as an advantage for this game. The Cowboys had the advantage in a single versatile player: a girl who played every position and created the various opportunities for Cooper City. The Raiders paid close attention to ensure that this particular player on their opponent’s team was consistently marked by at least one of the Lady Raiders. This strategy led to a shutout. The Raiders won the game 6-0.
The girls who scored were:
Sophie Barnes (So.): 1
Brooklyn Burbridge (Fr.): 1
Madison McKeon (Jr.): 1

Bianca Raskin (Jr.): 2
Marissa Robinson (Jr.): 1
This win moved the Raiders to the final four, in which they played the state semifinals on February 20th, 2025 against Lakewood Ranch High School. The MVP of this game was awarded to the Senior goalkeeper, Camryn McEwen, by Coach Brian Hantak. She maintained a shutout for the last 3 games including this one, which is very impressive. Since it is her senior year, her determination to win a state title was stronger than ever.
