On Sunday, January 19, 2025, the Divisional Round of the NFL continued. In this game the Philadelphia Eagles hosted the Los Angeles Rams at Lincoln Financial Field. This game was highly anticipated with star-studded talent all over the field. The stakes were high as the winner of this game would get a ticket to the NFC championship.
The Los Angeles Rams were the underdogs, coming in red hot off of their last game as they recorded nine sacks. Many critics thought that this would be the game where the Eagles would be knocked out of the playoffs. When the game started, the weather conditions were serious with snow falling down all over the field. Eagles’ running back, Saquon Barkely, took advantage of this opportunity, amounting 205 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns.
Narrowing down to the fourth quarter, the Eagles were up two scores with time running out. The Rams had to make a play, and they scored a touchdown cutting the lead down to a six-point game. The Rams got one more drive that looked promising, until Eagles’ defensive tackle, Jalen Carter, got the game-sealing sack. The Eagles now celebrate their win, while the Rams’ season was cut short. The Eagles hosted the NFC championship game against the Washington Commanders on January 25th.
