At 6:00 p.m on November 7th 2024, the St. Thomas Aquinas Girls’ Varsity Soccer team hosted a game against their rival, Cardinal Gibbons, at Brian Piccolo Stadium. This was their second game of the season, having just come off a win against Jupiter.
The Raiders had another shutout, winning the game 4-0. The first two goals were scored by Sophie Barnes and the last two goals were scored by Bianca Raskin. In the first half, Sophie Barnes scored a goal off of a freekick taken by Bianca. The last three goals were scored in the second half. Bianca played a through-ball to Sophie and she had a 1-v-1 against the goalkeeper and scored. Bianca then scored a penalty caused by Sophie. In the last goal, Ava Staley passed the ball to Bianca at the top of the box, and she shot the ball into the goal.
The Raiders came out to play and successfully beat their rival. Everyone played their part and contributed to the win. There was one player that stood out to Coach Hantak, and he rewarded Bianca Raskin as the MVP of the game. She did very well, ending the game with 2 goals and 2 assists while having a big impact on the game.
