Conditioning days with the Boy’s Lacrosse team are not just a typical day in the weight room.  Yes, the team has to run, do push ups, and lift weights, but that is just the beginning. Being physically strong and quick is important to playing this challenging game, however, to play at the level that Coach Crowley expects, it’s going to take more than just physical strength.  This is where the wisdom of Coach Biasotti comes in! Coach Biasotti takes time each session to share a message that will start to build the foundation of a strong mindset, and this past training session was no different. However, this isn’t your typical motivational speech.  Coach Biasotti takes the time to educate while he imparts his message.

Today’s message began with a history lesson. Coach Biasotti always tries to connect the player to the educational aspect of this sport in a relatable way that will resonate with them. He does this so he can fuel their minds with the rich history of the school so the team can work together to continue the tradition of perseverance.

Coach Biasotti wanted to give the team a backstory of the beginning of the city of Fort Lauderdale. He spoke a lot about the early settlers in this area and the obstacles they faced: surviving extreme temperatures, escaping foreign rule, escaping slavery, surviving the Great Depression, surviving a category four hurricane. His message this time was about resilience.  Coach Biasotti instilled the mindset that no matter what comes their way, the team should be resilient.
