The spooky night of October 29th crept in from the shadows, and the STA Players were prepared to give their audience a night of fright. From live surgeries to broken dolls, STA’s Haunted House was the fear-filled place to visit from 2:30 – 6:00 PM. With the help of the technical theater class providing the lights, haze effects, and sound affects, the show finally began.
This year’s theme was Menagerie Of Horror: Museum of the Unusual and Unexplained, led by sophomore Evelyn Printz. Together with her fellow thespians, Evelyn transformed the stage of the Bienes Center for the Arts into a museum of abnormalities. Tour guides led groups of six or less through the passageways into a spectacle of gothic horror, full of surprises at each corridor. An eerie fortune teller, played by freshman Juliana Bohm warned the tour group, “Don’t go in there! Death awaits you. The cards never lie!”
Joining in on the fearful fun, freshman Maria Loukakis says she decided to be an actor because, “[i]t was nice when we scared people and heard [them] screaming . . .” This Haunted House was just one of the many ways the STA family has come together to leave everyone with an experience to remember.
